my uvB light burnt out again...i feel like its burning out so fast. how long does it take for yours to burn out? what kind of light do you get? its for a 55 gallon tank with an ATBA thats about 1 foot by 1.5 feet big. i also have a regular light shining on the area. i am not sure if im buying the wrong one or what?

what brand/wattage is the bulb?? What size bulb is the fixture rated for??

Typically your UVB bulb shouldn't burn out before it loses it's UVB anyways. You need to replace your bulb every 6-8 months, and they should still be burning at that point, but the UVB percentage will have decreased to nearly zero.

Most people use either ReptiGlo or ReptiSun 5.0 compact fluorescents in some type of fixture. I have the fixture made by the same company as my bulb, personally.
