General Care Discussion :: Water quality seems to be great for a 10g...

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I use an excel sheet to keep track of everything in egards to my animals but this is the one for my water quality tests in regards to Niko's 10g tank. Also, yes I know the tank is small for him/her but Niko was an unexpected gift so the 10g was the best I could do at the time. Anyway... here's a "list" of all the water tests I've done so far, doesnt seem to bad for a 10g tank. Other than Niko theres only one Rosy Red in there.

That does look good! Do you have any live plants in there? They help with nitrates.

The 501's are crap! I strongly recommend against them, from personal experience.

Yeah, I'm sure it would be okay on a 10g tank...but much bigger and it will fail.

Thats the only reason I got it bec it was the only decently priced cannister filter for a small tank. Either way I'm happy with it, others may have had odd experiences with it but I'm not. In fact I like the thing.

Edit: Also, my water test results speak for themselves heh.

It seems that it's working well for you. I'd stick with it until you upgrade.

Plan on keeping it even after I upgrade. Might wana use the 10g as a plant / feeder fish tank when Nikos much much bigger.
