Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Soo....My turtle escaped today....shis in the she fell about four and half feet onto her back.... i wasnt sure if i should post this in the urgent care or not. When i found her she was all tucked into her shell and on her back not making an attempt to turn herself over. I checked her completly over there were no shell cracks or anything like that....i was just wondering if a fall like that could cause some internal damage... Shes very active right now and baskling and acting normal so im hoping shes alright. Im just wondering if i should take her in to get her insides looked at or if a vet can even check for internal damage...or if turtles can even get internal damage....Sneaky little bugger she is....

How far was the fall?

If the turtle's swimming, sleeping, and eating right, I'd say no need to see the vet. However, if you want to make sure, go ahead :)

When you found the turtle after the fall, it's probably shocked or resting.

Perhaps there are other opinions? :)

if its been a healthy turtle you're probably safe since she became active again, they have that shell for a reason along with their curiosity so they can take a few stumbles here and there, when my turtle escapes and hits the ground she gets shaken up a bit and when i return her to the tank she sinks to the bottom and scrambles into her cave, she never learns her lesson though =[
