i got some Ammonia Clear Tank Buddies for my fish tank and on the box it says "removes harmful chlorine & chloramine from tap water". It has fish on the box so I was wondering if it was ok to use for the turtle tank???

are they the disks that dissolve in water? i would think they would be okay but i wouldnt put them in the tank. your turtle could try and eat it. if you are using a good water conditioner and have bio mediea i wouldnt think you would need it anyway.

If your tank is in the process of cycling, you can buy liquid products like Ammo-lock that make the ammonia harmless but still allow cycling to occur. If you're just trying to get rid of chlorine in the water you'd be better off buying a liquid product designed for that purpose. If you do go ahead and use them, disolve them in a cup of water first, then add that to the tank so there's no risk of the turtle eating them.

You could probably put the discs in the filter though couldn't you?

It's probably just the tabs dissolving still.I don't know how long it takes for them to dissolve though.

Oh,well it could just take a while for it to actually settle. The filter might just not have cleaned the filter yet.
