General Care Discussion :: Do turtles have sensitive ears?

I'm making a trip back home tomorrow with my hatchling and was wondering if turtles have sensitive ears? This will help me decide if I can play music on the car ride and also to determine the best place for it to live in my appartment when we get home. Thanks in advance!

I suppose the bass can startle the turtle, but I don't think they have sensitive ears.

have you planned the best way to transfer your turtle home safely?
just wondering, in a water tub is NOT the best way to go.

Yes-thanks for the help! I already did a travel post and got lots of great replies and even links to great articles about travel. Don't worry-no water travel for Tilly the Turtle!

since turtles can't hear, i don't think it would be a problem.

the bass may be a problem since they could feel the vibrations

I would think thumping music would stress a turtle out. When we drove across country with my turtle we didn't play the music loudly.
I figured she didn't need any additional stress.

Don't forget that they can sense vibrations too... mine seem to know when I'm approaching as opposed to someone else.

Sounds good....just some very light background music then. Thanks for everyone's help these past few days...it's been rough for Tilly so I'm hoping she can make it back to Indiana with me and then she can destress in her new home.
