Hello everyone. I got my first RES 3 months ago. At first he was in a 40 gallon tank with a Cascade 700 filter. The tank was always clean and I
rarely ever had to do a water change, (maybe 1/4 tank every two weeks or more.) I recently upgraded her to a 60 gallon tank with an Eheim
Pro2 2028 filter. She's been in the tank for about 3 weeks now. I've done partial water changes every week. On most of the plastic surfaces in the tank, including the silicone sealant on the corners, there are little yellow dots starting to grow all over the place. The filter tubes are
transparent green. Inside I can see what looks like flaky plastic growing
inside the tubes. I know this'll restrict flow so I'd like to get rid of it.
I running the filter with the stock substrate it came with, Two floss pads, a bio-rings, and pro-strate (I think). Should I change my filter media to
something else? I already know I'll have to thoroughly clean the tank and tubes, is there anything else I can do to help the situation?
