boog's been eating the silicone in the tank, and i don't know what to do. I bought the tank off criag's list so the tank was used. I also don't know what kind of silicone was used...
Last year my turtle started doing that. I'd hear loud snapping noises and it was him yanking on a piece of silicon. To stop him I piled up decorations around the places he was attacking. He'd just move the decorations, of course, but after awhile he got tired of the game and he doesn't bother with the silicon any more.
You can also go to the hardware store and purchase a tube of aquarium silicon and smooth over the section to see if that stops your turtle.
