Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hi,

I've had my Reeves and RES for over 1.5 years now, and it still the same problem, i was wondering if it was permanent. The Reeves Shell is worse, it has many white dry looking scratches/spots on him, not moist. i say it could be the mineral deposits from when i was a beginner at keeping turtles, i didnt know the HOT water from faucet contained more minerals and i didnt put any water softeners.

My RES has white on her shell also, and it looks real dry, especially out of water.

Also the RES is "ALWAYS" shedding, constantly she has shedded skin hanging from her all the time mostly on her neck and forearms.

I have a cumberland and baby RES now, they seem to be ok now, but the RES' shell looks like it will turn white soon too. i put softeners but why arent they working? please help, thank you.

BTW im in Japan, anyone else local can help? please PM or reply, thanks.
