Ok, so I took him to a vet a couple of weeks, and of course, because he's Sam, he was lively and bit the vet once when the vet was looking at a spot on his leg just to make sure that he was healing correctly. Mainly I took him to a vet because of a spot on his shell, and the vet said that putting silver sulfadine ointment on him one- two times a day for 2 weeks should help start to get rid of the infection he might have The vet didn't think it was a major infection because it wasn't oozing and it didn't smell. Also, he's in the process of shedding. So, good news is that Sam is a healthy lively little turtle who has a few shell issues, but it should be better. He also gave him a general de wormer just because I have no idea what his history is and I gave Sam the second dose today. He didn't like that much. Oh yeah, I bought him some anacharis on Saturday, and it had some tiny little apple snails on it, LOL. So now I have a couple of snails in the aquarium as well. The nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia levels still haven't leveled out, but I did put a phosphorous attracting pad that's supposed to help with that in the bottom of the tank, hopefully that will help. Anyway, hopefully by August I'll have a 125 Gal tank for Sam, and maybe even another turtle.
I've had him out running around the living room a couple of times and his favorite thing is to get under the couch, in the corner I can't reach very easily, of course...

silly turtle. Oh yeah, and waking me up by jumping off the waterfall at like 1 AM
