i kno the obvious answer is separate them but do u think it would do my turtle any harm he just seems to shake it off and carry on

I'd go with the obvious answer.

Would you enjoy something attacking your leg constantly? If you value the oscar separate him before the turtle gets fed up and makes him lunch.

its a hieroglyphic river cooter lol and he is one of those quiet ones not aggressive at all and he is 5 inches way smaller than the oscar

Perhaps he's not terribly aggressive by nature, but ANY animal when pushed far enough will attack. And I'm pretty sure that oscar won't win the fight.

You can clearly see the animals don't co-habitate well. I can't seem to figure out why you just don't separate them before one or both get injured.

There will be no winner here, only one (or two losers).

Continually being harrassed by the Oscar will cause the turtle a lot of stress even if it does not injure it. This stress could affect its health.

Whilst the Oscar is more than big enough to to hold its own, fin or small bite damage could get infected, condemming it to a slow death.

As you started your post "... the obvious answer is separate them"

Why would you put an oscar together with a turtle anyway?
