Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

ok today i decided to take out clover from his tank after a month. 5 minutes later, all these scutes are peeling off and i couldn't get a good grip on him. i noticed he got bigger also. nails got longer, and the shell got wider and bigger. i cant remember the last time i took him out but its not a big problem. should i take him out once a month to shed? or should i just leave him in there for this to happen again?

Lol, that totally sounds like a turtle who got dropped into a vat of toxic waste, and suddenly started to grow bigger! bigger! bigger!

I would say, that he will shed naturally.

im not sure when he came out. i really dont keep track of that i just keep track of him being healthy. but going to what you said, i dont think he was at the process at all. how many times do they shed their shells?

and caphits...yeah its something natural but i wasnt expecting 12 scutes falling off in 5 minutes. it was scary. his nails got really long from the last time i took him out and the belly scutes stretched a little far and the top front scutes have stretched also. surprised me. im gonna check on my other turtle. ill keep this updated and see if anything else happens
