Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Ok so my RES is going to be a year old in july, however lately he/she has been biting at the ZooMed turtle dock. And I mean really biting away at it. I came home from school and a chunk was bitten off laying at the bottom of the tank. Is it agression, I know he isn't hungry I've been keeping him fed regularly. I'm just nervous that its not normal. Any advice would be great!
thanks :?

Hmm, maybe he's bored? What's his tank setup like?

Usually, when the turtles get older and start chewing on their docks it means they need some calcium. All you have to do is get a cuttle bone and break a piece off for him. He should chomp it down and stop the chewing altogether.

I also had this problem before with my 2 years old turtles.. then I change the dock with others materials and feed them cuttlebone.. yeah they like it~! now they just need to bite the cuttlebone.. no longer the dock.
