well my water temperature exactly at morning = 29-30 Celcius
day 30-31 Celcius
noon = 28-30 celcius
night =26-28 celcius
if raining 26-27 celcius

how can i cooling the water, to 24 celcius. its kind of hard. but how
i dont want to use botol with frozen ice inside.
if i buy the machine thats to expensive ( and CFC =__=)
so what can i do

There is aquarium fan. It's actually a row of small fans blowing across the water
surface. Rather expensive though at around Rp 200.000,- (US$ 18). (For US
people, things are much cheaper here compared to the US, so I'm a cheapskate.)

I'm not sure about the effectiveness of the fan and whether or not it's safe for
turtles. It claims to be able to drop the temperature down by 2-3°C.

The fastest and safest way to drop water temp is by using ice in bottle. I've tried
that. It's a hassle and doesn't work for a whole day though.

And yes, chiller is very expensive. It'd be cheaper to put the aquarium in a room
with air conditioner. People using the room as well, of course. Oh, don't direct
the air conditioner flow to the aquarium directly. It won't be good, like your
experience with Musa, right?

Perhaps people have more ideas?

Yes, it's quite hot here. During the day, my water temp can reach 31°C. Right now
(10.30 pm), my thermometer reads 30°C. The inhabitants are doing fine though,
so I'm not too worried. It hasn't been raining for several days, but it's very humid.

I'd like to know if people used the fans before or if they're recommended. I might
be able to build one from parts if they're recommended

You can use any sort of fan, so you could try just regular fans blowing across the surface as well. Anything specific for aquariums is always super expensive. You might be able to rig up some computer fans in a row as well! Check out the hardware store for idea.

As for temps, last summer, my temps inside near the turtle tank were running 80-82F (~27C) and I didn't bother with cooling it. My turtle continued to bask, shed a little extra skin, and probably was more hungry. But there's just not any other options, the water bottles don't last very long and I can't contaminate my freezer with turtle water. I did occasionally throw some ice cubes in, though.

You don't say how big the tank is, but if this is a big tank, a 4 degree celisius change during the day is quite large.

Is the tank getting any sunlight at any stage of the day? Is so, shielding it from the sun will help.
