Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

whenever i take Peekaboo out of the tank, her shell gets really white...its like all chalky and dry... this also happens when she's basking and is all dry...she can bask for hours...stays up there untill i turn off the light after like 8-10hrs...the area around her eyes also get all white and chalky...

she's been shedding for the past two months since i got her and doesnt seem to stop...

i dont have a uva or uvb lamp just a regular incandescent lamp but am gettin a proper bulb soon.

Is it because of the bulb or what???

when her owners gave her to me she didnt even have a heat lamp or proper basking dock...i fixed it all up for her...will it get better?? how long will it take???

Shedding all the schutes might take months. What you can do is continue giving
proper food and providing proper habitat, including UVB. From your description
though, I think it's mineral deposit. In that case, I don't think there's much else
to do except wait for the shedding to finish and watch the water parameters.

Good luck :)

See if you can gently scrub a little of it off with a toothbrush. It does sound like water deposits.

And UVA comes from household bulbs, those that's fine for a heat source. Just try to get a UVB light soon, it really is important for their calcium absorption and shedding.
