General Care Discussion :: weird behavior

My turtle is very very friendly, very active, fun, bla bla bla, she is like a freaking dog :p A couple days ago, she basked all day... I don't know how she is when I am at work but she basked the entire time I was home, when it was bedtime, I turned off all her lights and she stayed up there. I got out her food... which she always freaks out about and she didn't even move. (she ate just fine, just no excitement when it came) She did that for two days. Now she is freaking out about everything. I walk by and she jumps off her basking platform and into the corner of the tanks and spazes out.

Nothing has changed with her home, feeding or anything else.

This is my first winter with her, could her actions be because it is finally becoming warm again? She is freaking me out with her weird behavior!

How old is your turtle? Could she be gravid?

hmmm the only time that one of my turtles started acting like that was when they had stayed up all night because i forgot to turn the basking light off(i have an auto timer now so that doesnt happen anymore) and my turtle wouldnt even touch food even if i put it in his face, as soon as he got some sleep he was normal again

Their personalities sometimes change with the seasons.

During the winter, my turtles were kept warm, but they seemed to know from the photoperiods I gave them that it was winter. So, they weren't as OMG!!!!! about everything.

The second Spring rolled around they both went nuts like your turtle does.

Basking behaviors seem to change quickly. Mine didn't care if I looked at them while basking, and now all of the sudden they give a crap.
