General Care Discussion :: Is that spring time or what happened?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hi,

I have two boys, both around 18 mo old and 3.5 inches in length. About a week ago, one of my boys, Trouble, started to eat less and to fan more often. He appears to be active and healthy still although he is eating considerably less than usual. Both of them started fanning around few months ago. Could it be the spring time, or what is going on with Trouble?

Thanks,
Sam

Are they in the same tank? Do you feed them separately? It's possible the other one is bullying Trouble. Keep an eye out for any kind of aggression, especially biting, because it's possible for one to bite the other's penis, which can cause serious harm (as you can imagine).
