OK, Ginko didn't eat from my hand but Qing did. I want to know if he's trying to bite my finger or to eat the vegetable. I gave him spinach, and this is the first time I fed him with my bare hands. So, erm, he bite me two times T.T his teeth were so sharp it hurt like a knife.

He bite my middle finger two times cause I used my middle finger to feed him. He was the most active one in all four of them.

Its normal, it can be both situation either your turtle want to eat the vegie or bite your finger because he tot your finger is nice meat to eat. I guess your Qing is about 1 year old so yes his teeth?/beak? can be sharp like a knife.. their mouth like nail clipper to me. Never get cut yet by them.

I always got nipped by my turtles when feeding them with hand but already used to it.. I don't know why, sometimes of one my turtle will bite my fingers though she saw the lettuce but still wanted to bite my fingers.. haha.. so notty!

lol it really was painful. I hope he doesn't do it again lols, if the skin really gets cut open, that would be bad. But I never fed him meat before anyways.

I gave him spinach, what its no recommend vegetables, and meat its for treatment only (1 month 1 times), i recommend vegetables and pellets. if you always give your turtle meats, they change, to aggresive, eat my hands, always eat it. but now i give him vegetables, and they changed, they doesnt aggresive, if i come, they come beg food. and i give him lettuce =D
jello shot is the great food for turtle, plus water tunna, tunna have good protein.

Turtles are not pack animals, and in their instinct they "hunt" for their own foods, even in your own tank, a turtle won't know they've got a owner .

JamesHermanto - Though I don't give any meats to my turtle, never ever since I have them.. they still go crazy to eat all the lettuces I give to them and less than 15 minutes all the lettuces will gone~! ..

If I make mint tea, I sometimes throw 3 4 of pudina leaves in my turtles tank.. they eat it~! hahaha.. for fresh their breath~! good~!

All they understand is that the hand produces the food. Turtles love food so much they just aim for whatever they can get and that is that.

My turtles do that too. Typhoon is especially into the playful nips, and if I can in the future I'm going to channel it into a fun activity.

I thought of something really silly, but kind of cool. I want to teach them their normal hunting behaviors, because even cute turtles have them, by getting a rubber mini-fish they can break then tying it to a string and swirling it around the tank. Typhoon likes this game already but it always involved my finger and it shouldn't. It's a tradition to hand feed turtles, and they are smart little guys but not smart enough to know the difference between you and the actual food.
