How long depends on a lot of things: size of turtle, gph of filter, growth rate, etc.

Like Mikee said, it depends on a lot of things, particularly the size she ends up growing to. But I would say it should easily last a few years (3-4 years?), assuming she's not much more than a year old now, especially if you do an above tank basking area.

You can't dodge the tank upgrade. You'll have to do it eventually, hun. If you look in the right places, like walmart, or glasscages.com, they have tanks at very nice and affordable prices.

In any case, a turtle grows about an inch a year I believe, if given the correct diet. So, your turtle can grow up to about eight or nine inches in a 66 gallon, before it will need a new tank. There's little sense in buying a new tank every single time a turtle grows one more inch than the gallons of the tank.
