My turtles Fluffy and Donatello will not bask. They just sit on the water heater all day. Their water temp. was on the warmer side because Fluffy had RI. He's better now so lowered the water from 84f to 80 hoping they would start to bask. I will lower it into the 70 slowly. Also they don't have a basking heat lamp but they would always bask before. Any Ideas?

Why don't they have a heat lamp? It's quite important. If there's no heat, there's no reason to bask.

I'm working on it. They use to bask anyway.

meo-cy -- Yep, A turtle behavior is temperature driven. They need a heat source to get warm and the uvb to help with the metabolism and growth. When you get a heat lamp the basking temp should be 90 to 91 degrees. For a healthy turtle the water temp should be from 75 to 77 degrees. They like the temp. difference. m.
