So I'm going on vacation for a week, and usually there are people around to take care of my turtle but everyone is going on this vacation..sooo..how do I keep my turtle fed when no one is around? I've seen people mention automatic feeders, do they work that well? And is there a good brand?

jul-73 -- I have uses a fish feeder, but they drop food once a day. If they are larger that is too much, but it will get you by for a week. You will have to work with it to see how much to open the adjustable gate. m.

I have an automatic fish feeder from walmart. If you break the reptomin pellets into 1/3s, it allows them to easily go through the feeding tube. If I am only gone for 1-2 days, I dont worry, and know that my turtle will be fine. Any longer, and I setup the feeder.

I got the cheapest auto feeder for wal-mart and it works great . It feed them two times a day . Because I have fish I places one right over the basking area so I would know that they turtles got it .,
