My turtle keeps trying to squeeze in between the heater and the tank . Is there anything that I can do to stop him ?

I gave up trying to suction my heaters to the side of the tank long ago. Will the heater stay roughly in the same place if you take the suction cups off?

Mine did that for awhile and when I moved the heater up a bit, she left it alone. You could try rigging up like a cage over the area to deter him, or you could change its location?

I tried everything I could think of until one day he decided to de-suction it and bang it against the glass. We ended up getting a stealth and now he tries every day but cannot even get it de-suctioned.

Someone once suggested to me covering the water heater with a PVC pipe, and drilling holes in the pipe too so it can properly heat the water.

Water turtles have a tendency to try and get under something of hide behind something. If he is not playing with it, he is probably trying to hide. That is just it's nature.

BammBamm uses her stealth heater as a back scatcher. Could your turtle be trying to scratch his back?
