Try leaving your house and observe turtles in the wild once in a while!

Wild turtles are much more robust than pet turtles. Nature KILLS the turtles that cannot keep up with temperature changes, lack of food, and other stresses. A pet turtle doesnt have the instinct, the immune system, or things trying to eat him constantly.

If they are in shallow water, they have a tendency to stand upright and fall on their backs. I've caught Hurricane doing this in their normal tank. They can only hold their head up for so long while upsidedown before they get tired.

By the way, jozzep, how in god's name do you know how every turtle around the whole world is doing in the wild? What are you, all seeing and all knowing? Please.

I don't necessarily agree with everything said on this website too, but, I'm not arrogant about it.

This topic was supposed to be about tips on how to transport turtles.

I did notice yesterday that they got bounced around some in the shallow water. When I did deeper water, they didn't get bounced around. Only problem is, a bus, even when sitting on the wheel, is quite a bit less bumpier than a regular car. (Or that could be that my mother drives to rough).

I know if I were to put Hurricane and Typhoon in the wild tomorrow, they would probably die. They are completely reliant on my mother and I to feed them, you don't even see them foraging for food anymore. Now all they search for is the people walking by, and calcium.

I would really leave my lifestyle out of this if I were you. Don't make me angry, because honey, I've been through a lot of bull the last month, I have no vent for my anger for what I've been through, and I can be ten times meaner than you if I want to be. You'd better think about what you say in your next post before you say it.

I don't have to be the same age as you to tell you to stop talking down to people. You don't like everything on this site, then you can leave on your own accord. Your presence is not required.

I guess I'm so used to working with children that, when I hear someone saying something hurtful to another person, I automatically have to tell them to stop it.

And it seems to have stopped finally.

You're the one who had good intentioned by starting the thread. Don't let it deter you from asking questions, that's what this site is about.

Sometimes on the internet people like to turn things into being all about them, and show off their dominance. Text makes that easier.

Exactly tammi....I just started by expressing "my opinion" which is the way "I do it in MY experience" and not something i copied and pasted from some post.And everyone feels the need to correct like their some kind of "Steve Irwin" turtle whisperer lol.
Artbook i've given LOTS of usefull advice to people on here and i will express MY opinion WHENEVER i want, if it you don't like it, don't reply to my comments like a post whore!
