well my new RES is just laying around on the bottom had him about a week and a half.. he used to swim around now he just kinda lays there is this normal?

is he eating, pooping, basking? Is he active at any time of the day? It is not abnormal for the turtle to take a nap on the bottom once in a while.

range-03 If he is not sick, it is normal to go to the bottom and hide. It is a normal reaction to a new environment. It will take some time for him to overcome his fear. Good Luck!

As long as he eats it's normal......If he doesn't eat raise the water temperature to 80 degrees for a week.

he eats like a tank, and bask when hes not on the bottom
