hi all,
well i can not find my last post i was trying to find out how you tell how old they are and i also need to know if a female can lay eggs more then once a season like i have a female that laid eggs will see lay agin this year and will see lay them were she laid the last ones i dug up the eggs she has laid. also is there any thing you can buy to cut there nails back

A female can lay many times a year in the presence of a male, she'll lay less frequently if she's on her own. If the eggs are suspected to be viable (i.e. a male fertilized them), you should humanely destroy them. You can do this by boiling them or freezing them and then cracking them in the trash. If you don't crack them, a baby turtle could hatch in a trash place somewhere.

No, you don't want to cut back their nails. The only time you would want to do this is if it is medically relevant, and you should have a vet do that. But a normal turtle will have long nails, it's part of who they are.

cool thanks i guess the only question i have now is how to find out there age i have to have som over the age 5 becouse i do have eggs (7) i have 6 turttles

I had to have my RES claws trimed last week because they had gotten so long the were snagging in the filter and heater and he was getting stuck. The Vet trimed them for $7.
