I am change the room my turtles are in so we can paint . With all the cooking and stuff dome in the kitchen is there anything I should be worried about .

Just make sure the turtle water doesn't get on any of the sanitary items/spots and you'll be ok. If it does, make sure you wash the area/tool good before you use it again. I've heard of some people using bleach, and I've heard of other just using a disinfectant spray.

Aside from general sanitation and common sense, it shouldn't be a big issue. If your turtles are used to your constant presence, if it's an active room, I wouldn't be too concerned about that either.

Obviously, don't put it right next to the stove or anything. You don't want all the warmth and steam from cooking affecting your tank

Lol, I keep my girls in the living room too. There is almost no traffic in that room at all.

Kinda funny when a stranger walks in... They know that's not us, and man, they duck and cover. They've seen a few of our friends enough times though, that they don't duck and cover, but still bet bored with the non-food producing humans quickly. (Interestingly enough, they hated my mother's ex-boyfriend, even after he fed them a couple of times.)

hahaha very funny. I kept mine in my bedroom (kame) and in my living room (kroten)....but unlike you, they don't mind with any visitors
