Hey, could you take a look at Bently's shell? I finally have a dry picture now. I'm just wondering if everything's ok.

Looks like sign of pyramiding. Or, Bently just need a good shed.

What's the feeding schedule like?

Monday: Reptomin
Tuesday: 1-2 worms or feeder fish (feeder fish like once a month)
Wednesday: Veggies (I usually give him turnip greens and occasionally carrot skins)
Thursday: Veggies
Friday: Assorted Pellets
Saturday: Fruits and veggies (he doesn't get fruit very often)
Sunday: Veggies

Sorry I'm not very good on turtle terms and such. What is pyramiding?

Pyramiding can be slowed and stopped before it gets too bad. It'll be best if you act quickly. I remember seeing a screen covering your tank in one of your pictures. That will block out the UVB rays from your MVB bulb, so start by taking that off and replacing it with egg crate if you really need the cover.

It's very slight, i wouldn't worry about it.
When you feed pellets, you should giva an amount the equals the size of it's head.

I don't really see any pyramiding, just a turtle in need of a good shed. And it looks like your feeding schedule is good.

Thanks! I'm going to cut a hole in my screen for the UVB. And jozzep, that's how I'm feeding Bently's pellets.

Definitely needs to shed---it will smooth out some of those ridges some.

I'm waiting on a shed still. I see his head and arms shedding but so far, no shell.

bent-11 The pyramiding is minor, however, I would stick to the rules of the road in the temps and lighting. Increase the calcium and feed every other day and do not over feed. It is generally thought that too much protein caused that. Proper temps, lighting, uvb and diet will help.

Today, I threw in some cuttlebone pieces to help. He's munching away on them. He's also basking a lot more, to my relief. I've also been feeding him turnip greens as his staple veggie because I heard they are high in calcium. I can understand how he's getting too much protein, because until I came to this site, Bently lived on just pellets (and for almost 3 years). I'm hoping all this will help.
