i noticed my turtles throat blows up kind of like a frogs does. is this normal? i cant remember if my turtles did this when i had two 5 years ago. and he attacks the cork bark.

The throat thing is normal.

Attacking the cork bark could be a sign of needing calcium. Have you tried
providing cuttlebone? Make sure you remove the hard backing first. Cuttlebone
is available at the bird section in pet stores.

This is the second time I've seen somebody ask this about their turtles breathing...

I think it's pretty obvious that they are sucking in air, I mean, what else would it be?

lol..Yeah it's completely normal...They use is as a "flotation device"...it helps them stay afloat at the top of the water when they stick their heads up to see what's going on. My guys does it allll the time!

at first when i was new with turtles i thought the necks swelled up like that because those wore its lungs but then i told myself, "lungs aren't that small...right?". and i kinda knew that if it puffs in and out it looks like its breathing so i didn't pay much mind

it is normal at first I tot, owh turtles do breath like frogs.. sucking the air and put in a 'bag' of throat.
