I have heard that when taking pictures from some fishes you should not use a flash.
So I was wondering whether or not using a flash during photography will be harmful for my RESs?

I don't know the answer. However, I think the best lighting to photograph a turtle
is under the morning sunlight. That way, you don't need flash.

Joke aside, in total confidence i would say NO.I've photographed my turtles hundreds of times with a flash.

I try not to use flash when I photograph my turts, especially if I'm taking a series of pics. I use it on occasion, but sometimes you end up with turtle red-eye

lol i never got that turtle red eye. their either blue or green. red...thats weird and kinda devil-ish. their only devils to fish not in pictures :p

I use a flash, nothing has happened to them physically.

I just learned that if I simply hold any type of disposable camera now over the tank, the second Typhoon realizes it's there, she hides. She hates the flash.

Yeah, I usually take photos with a regular camera from above the tank...

Funny, my mother didn't know, so she goes on about how she got some pictures, and I asked her if she used a flash, and when she said she did I was like, "Congrats, you just took some photos of yourself".

Like Kemul said though, I've always ended up with the best pictures with natural light, no flash.

The reason I post the topic was actually the guilt. Even human eyes get hurt by the flash.

Yashm (girl) also finds there is a camera zooming on her , but my Zeytoon (boy) poses for the camera.
