If you're feeding your turtle raw carrots, yes it's normal - sometimes they pass through your turtle looking very much like they did when the turtle ate them.

It's because your turtle's tummy didn't completely break it down. Carrots have a lot of fiber in them as well.

I know some people blanch their carrots and then feed their turts. You don't want to completely cook or overcook it though, because then you lose the nutrients in the carrots. If you do decide to blanch the carrots, make sure you cool them down in cold water before you feed it to your turtle.

As for the black thing you're referring to, how old and how big is your turtle? It might be a boy ^^ I'm not sure though! Someone else here might help you figure that out lol.

That "black thing" is very likely your turtle's penis.

Try shredding/peeling your carrots first into thin strips, so that the turtle cannot physically eat the whole thing.

As for the thing you saw, it was likely his boy parts, but you do have to be careful. If you know your turtle is going to eat a whole piece of food like that, you cannot feed it that way, you must cut it into smaller parts. It may have been the food that forced the boy parts to show because there is only so much room down there, but next time, you may have some intestines slip out instead, and that can cause severe damage!

Try to type normal.......No need for all caps, we can read small letters too. ;)
It's very normal for turtles to not break down food completely, matter of fact they might eat it again. That's just how nature works.
As per vomiting, no need to get worked up if it does happen. My turtles have vomited before for whatever reason. They turn around and eat it again lol.

turtlechillzz87 - I feed my turtle the smaller, thinner "baby carrots" full size, so yes, I could see people feeding their turtles whole carrots. Most turtles will bite them to size, not all will.

In the similar sense, tortoises can nibble on a whole carrot.

i'm sure that a full bite isn't damaging to your turtle. i've seen sliders take full bites and it came out fine. if it really seems peculiar coming out the other end, then it may possibly be a digestive problem.
