How old is she? That looks like fast growth, which is often seen in hatchlings. Have you changed her diet recently?

I agree. Looks like a change in diet is in order. Do you have pics of the carapace?

It's fast growth. Has your RES been growing noticeably? What do you feed your RES, how often and how much at a feeding.

she is about 7 years old or older from what i've heard, I adopted her 2 years ago from my brothers friend, he kept her in a box that she could barely move, which caused me to think that she didn't grow anymore more than what she was cause of what she was living in.

I have been feeding her a head of reptomin floating food sticks everyday, and lettuce and cuttlebone every other day. Before the reptomin, she was eating Zoomed round pellets, but she didn't like it anymore, so i got her the reptomin.

@jenaero, what is caraspace? the size of the gap? it is around 3mm, my turtle is around 6 inches now (estimating), and i have noticed she got heavier.

inane -- The "plastron" looks to me the the turtle if growing very fast. You may be over feeding it. A turle that size should be fed every other day the amount equal to the size of his/her head. Pleade put up photo and let's look at it.
