for the past week my to res have been acting very lethargic and are not eating well. i was thinking it was because i was without a uv light for a little while and they were confused about day/night transition?

C-rey BD is correct. Check your rules of the road in regards to temp and lighting and we will go from there. If that does not do it you may be faced with RI.

Is it getting cool where you are? If so, do you have a submersible water heater for the tank?
