I built a nice nesting box outside as you know and for what lol. Yep my large female res is heavy with eggs.

I turned on the lights this morning and she was making alot of noise but on wood making banging noises is normal. Then i heard a loud bang. I knew somthing was wrong so i ran down stairs and saw she flipped herself over on the basking dock and i knew somthing was bothing her. Never seen her try and escape. Soo i thought oh no not eggs. Felt her and i can feel at least six eggs but i know theres more then that.

I felt all my females for eggs before i brought them in. Soo it took her two weeks to produce a clutch of eggs.

My question now is should i try and hatch 2 or 3 eggs . I wanna see what two cumberland/res hybrids produce shell pattern wise. Lol though claws my normal res has mated with her too.....

u could ry hatching some but u have to know what u would do with the hatchlings. ould u keep them or ould u give them to someone or not kow what to do? if u can give them a good home id say its ok

It takes around 60 days for the eggs to hatch.

If of the 3 that would hatch they would have cumberland patterns i would keep 1. Other 2 i would find homes. Thats if all 3 would hatch.

Finding a home for them isnt hard. Last time i sold a baby painted. I had to choose between which 3 homes with ponds it would spend its life in.

Oh ok. Too bad they would hatch when its could. Towards the spring we're looking at getting a hatchling.

Thanks for that link. I know this is unrelated but I really think my little guy might be one of those. Well mostly RES due to his five red stripes on his head but he has more yellow on him then any RES I have seen, when he was a hatchling he was fifty-fifty. His baby photo has all the markings.

Do you happen to know if they get more yellow when they age? My little guy has been becoming more yellow as he grows.

Looking at petstores now im really looking at res and i see the do get mor yellow as they age that is for sure.

Okay now im mad at my vet, nothing wrong. Ha im going back this time with a video and some pics.

This is not normal! It not an egg it has vains and is just a sack, it get double that size in the pic sometimes.

That does not look good at all. I could guess it was an egg that was wrapped in a thin layer of membrane or skin, that's a possibility. Otherwise, it may be a bubble or the intestines. Definitely show this to the vet!

Well after another visit with video with photos and video. They still cant really tell so they wanna take xrays but wait on the results for parasites.

I have this feeling after reading about prolapses she has an egg to large to pass.

I gotta ask how much money and i will to spend on this turtle.

Wow, thats very strange. I hope it works out for the best. A note about x-rays... after I had some done for my turtle and the images were not very clear, the vet said that it's hard to make out whats going on in there. So I'm not sure if x-rays will help, but there is something odd going on.
