Is there anyway I can get my turtles to become more comfortable with me? They swim at me when I walk in because they want food but they don't like to hang out and crawl around the room with me. Any advice?

Whenever people ask me how come my turtles are so comfortable with me, all I can say is that I show them a lot of love hahaha...coz I don't know why they are acting like that.

Kame has always been an attention seeker, Kroten is copying her now.

My advice is Show them that you love them!! Call their names whenever you see them...Kame n Kroten understand their name perfectly because of that.

generally turtles are not a pet that like to be handled. they much prefer swimming in their tanks while you watch them.

ive seen cases where turtles are very friendly outside the tank and do follow people, but these are pretty isolated cases, there's more practical and hygienic reasons to keep them in their tank than wanting to treat them like a house pet

People have a tendency to anthropomorphize their pets, but it's scientifically proven that turtles brain don't process feeling like love or boredom. All they respond too is food. But this doesn't mean you can't "think" they do.

I have to disagree with those scientist

Kroten will bite anyone near her and she will allow me touching her all the time.

Kame is always shaking my hand whenever I came home from work but she will ignore me completely when I am about to live her alone. When she is out in the morning, She would follow me around, I have to watch my step coz she always on my back.

This happened yesterday...I was playing kroten...teasing her...Kame saw it from her tank...and you know what she did?? she looked at me then jumped into her tank then she looked at me again and tried to climb her dock from side way and once she was on the dock she looked at me again n jumped again....over and over Till I give up n let her out too. The 1st thing she did is climb over my legs

This is true!!!
