Is it safe to toss a few cuttlbone pieces in the water if there are fish in tank? thanks!

I have two female red ear sliders.
Chimpy - 5.5 inches
Chompy- 6.0 inches
Both were born about 7/2007
Got them -- 9/2007

But what about the sharp piecs of cuttle bone around the edges, is this safe as well??? I am concerned my turtles will eat a sharp piece and it will cut their intestines :O

i do it all the time and both, my fish, and more inportantaly my turtle is fine

2 cumberland sliders: levern and sherly
