Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

So this is just kinda a curious question, it seems like when we got my little guy/gal, their plastron was just plain yellow, IIRC. However, now that he/she's about a year old, some time in the last 6 months it seems like, there's new black "splotches" of coloration on the plastron instead.

Is it normal for a RES to develop marks on it's plastron after a few months? Or were they probably there before & I didn't notice them? Just peaked my curiosity, figured I'd ask

It's normal. Most likely they were green rings and these rings/blotches are unique to every RES.
