General Care Discussion :: crooked eye

So I thought I noticed this in a photo I took a few days ago but I was just looking closer at my res (he's finally letting me) and I noticed one of his eyes is like crooked http://www.flickr.com/photos/coopersnow/4482996781/ and a little moved back in the socket (it doesn't centre like the other one). Do you guys think maybe another turtle fought him and damaged it or what, and will he be ok? He's got pretty damn good eyesight so far, always knows when to hide when I come around lol

I cant really tell if it's off center or he is just looking backwards. If you can't see any wounds or scars and you can definitely tell it isn't affecting his vision then I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe get some cod liver oil and give him a drop or two to the eye if you ntice any inflamation or fluids coming out from his eye ducts.

And don't worry he is still a baby, once he links your presence with being fed he will come and greet you every time you pass by.

It could be from birth he was like that. If it was from a bite or something else the eyelid would show signs.

I had a turtle with no left eye and one that had an eye bull half the size of a normal one. Both turtles lived and ate fine.
