We have a zoo med dock and the turtle has been eating chunks off of it. He isnt digesting it he will bite off a piece and then spit it out. Is this ok or should we get him something else. He is about 2 years old.

It's not OK. Looks like your turtle wants additional Calcium intake. Try offering
cuttlebone pieces. You can get it from the bird section is pet stores. Remember
to get rid of the hard backing first. Some turtles prefer headsize pieces, some
smaller, and some larger.

You may also try giving more "distractions" in the tank, like golf balls, ping pong
balls, rocks, etc. Things for the turtle to push around.

If he doesnt stop eating it i suggest getting another place to bask he doesnt find so appealing to chomp on
