ok guys, so after i made my basking dock in nov., it's held up well, until the silicone ripped and now its completely in half, i have to make a new one now.

for at most....2 days, do you think the turtles can bask with a TINY bit of water on their plastrons? i need to make the new one above the tank so i dont have to worry about sinking.

Second of all, do you guys think i should put it on the side of the tank with it hooked on with some brackets, or do you think i should make it 20" wide, so i can set it on the top of the tank with 1 in on each side?

I'm making this from some sturdy wood, so i think it will last a while, and i plan on making the ramp from a rubbermaid container, so, i think i'm going to screw it onto the wood, so then i dont have to worry about it comming off.

last question, to put the ramp on, how can i put it on at an angle, and how can i make sure it wont bend?

Can't help you with how to build it or where's the best place for it, but 2 days with a semi-dry spot won't do any harm. Good luck with building :-)

thanks, their shells can get completely dry, but their in a little water. i need to get my dad to cut the wood, luckily he always has some giant 2x4s downstairs, so i have all the supplies here, except for some grippy stuff, but my sister can drive me out to wal mart to get that, she finally gets to drive alone, and my mom let us to the grocey shopping alone today!!!
