Alrighty, so Doug here has been squeaking for quite some time and I just want to know if its ok.

He is not listing, sneezing, open mouth breathing, and there are no bubbles coming from him. His water temp is ~78 degree's, he has a UVB light, he is about 1 year old, and he only seems to squeak when he is splashin around heavily as his head pokes out of water. When he is just chillin there is little to no squeak to be heard. He also squeaks when i am about to feed him too.

Is this RI? Is it normal? Will he be alright?

Could you describe it as a chirp or a croak? My RES and others have made those sounds before, but the cause is unknown and is not a regular occurrence.

Chrip, i guess it could be a wheeze but its more high pitched. Its for sure not a croak.

I just want to be sure its not an RI *though i have already taken the pre-cautions by moving his heat source closer and heating up the tank a bit*

my turtles will make a similar sound when they are basking every now and then. first time i heard it freaked me out but it seems to be normal now.

Yeah but, its like.... almost all the time when he is exerting energy...

Ok update.

The squeak is definitely a wheeze. So, do I have him checked? Or keep the temp up and the basking spot warm?

Any other symptoms? I'd keep the water warmer (82F) and the basking area 90 - 91F to help him fight any infection. Since you say it's been going on for quite some times, it would definitely be good to have him checked out, especially if there are other symptoms or the wheezing doesn't go away.
