General Care Discussion :: Shedding scutes for the first time

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I have a 4 year old make RES. He's shedding his scutes for the first time pretty rapidly. The scutes are clean, strong, and translucent. His behavior hasn't changed (he's still out of his mind and basically tries to swim through the glass every time I walk in the room), no signs of bleeding, exposed bone, discoloration, or soft spongy shell below the areas where he has lost scutes. His shell looks great.

My assumption is he is ok, but this being the first time he's shedding I figured its best to inquire for a second opinion.

IIn your opinions, based on the information provided, is he cool?

Clear, strong and translucent scutes shedding in one piece? This is very good. :D
