Do any of you have the new turtle topper? I watched several youtube reviews of it and it seems like a great thing. I ordered one yesterday because I think my rocks are causing trouble in the tank and now i can get rid of them.

I keep finding white wormy things in the water. There are 2 different kinds I keep seeing. EVERYTIME I clean the tank shortly after they are in there. From the research Ive done it appears to be something called a drain fly larvae. Ive never seen them before anywhere until now in the tank and they are only in there after I clean it out. I do use my outside hose to partially fill the tank so I wonder if they could be from that. I posted this not long ago and someone replied saying its planaria. Ive seen pictures of planaria and thats not what these look like.

Then a couple nights ago I saw things that were as thin as thread and very wiggly...I called the vet because I was afraid it was Threadworm but they seemed to think no it wasnt because I wouldnt of been able to see them in the water. They said it was probably some type of filter worm. Or a anti-parasitic nematode or something.. Have any of you seen these before in your tank?

Thanks

No..I tried taking a picture of one but they are so small its impossible. Some of them looked like a piece of hair floating then all the sudden they wiggled all over the place. Very thin.

I've never seen any that thin, no, sorry.

I'm a bit worried if you have these coming out of your house water, even if it's the outside tap. Maybe try using an inside water supply and see if it's in there too?

If I wouldnt of been looking so closely I wouldnt of even noticed them. Thats how thin and little they were. As soon as I get the turtle topper Ill be redoing the tank again and Im interested in seeing if they come back. If not then Ill know it was from the rocks..which I guess is possible because they were from outside by my pond but I rinsed them before bringing them in.

Ive heard of people getting these in their bath tubs and stuff but We never have here. I check my water regularly and the filters.
