Hi.
I have a question but i'll start at the beginning.
So. I've had a female turtle for about 10 years. I decided to try to get her some company and got another one, a male (younger).
But the male comes from a real bad place where there was no light and he only got goldfish food and was only fed every 2 days and just got a little food. As you can imagine he was/is in pretty bad shape. Turtles are illegal here so I couldn't take him to the vet so I took him home and he looks much better. His shell had small holes in it and he was bright green.
Anyway, I tried to put the two turtles together and it was ok for a few minutes. They were both curious and then the male tried to mate with her. After like 10 minutes he got REALLY aggressive and just bit her full force and swam after here and she was terrified. I tried to have them together in the tank but so they couldnt get to each other, I've tried taking one out of the tank when he shows aggressive behavior. They are now in separate tanks.
I always thought it was the female who would get aggressive, especially since she is bigger and older.
Oh, and the tank is 300 litre
Is there anything I can do??
