ok so i bought my aunt a res and it does not seem happy so i was going to bring it home and put it in with pixi but i am scared that pixi will freak out due to being alone for about a year... does anyone kno if this will b ok

Well I put a really small turtle (1inches) with my old 4 inches bei bei and Bei Bei starting to Nib it and push him off the basking dock...

Like steve say it depend on the size of tank and if they both get there own basking area or big enough for 2.

i have a 40 gall tank5 5.5 inche and a female and the one i bought my aunt is about 3 inches maybe 2 and the sex id undetermined but my aunts tank is the 20 gall with a little basking area but her water is real hard water and the neutralizer does not seem to b cutting it. i just wanna nurse the res but not make mine mad..

If you plan on putting two turtles together they should be around the same size. RES are rather aggressive so Id be careful. I imagine it may be easier putting a RES with a Musk or Mud turtle than with another RES.

Rather than taking on another turtle, I'd first take a look at the set-up that your aunt has for her/him. What is the set-up like (how big? does it have a good basking area? proper lighing? water heater? filter? etc.)

How long has your aunt had the turtle? Was this a wanted pet, or would your aunt rather not have a turtle?

What makes you think the turtle is "unhappy?" What kind of foods is the turtle fed?
