General Care Discussion :: I know no gravel but what about "turtle gravel"?

I am in the process of setting up my tank and currently have nothing on the bottom- and intend to keep it that way I think or eventually put very large river rocks or possibly sand though not sure about sand... BUT I saw this product at Petsmart I think was called TURTLE GRAVEL. It says on the bag it provides them extra calcium so not sure if they are supposed to eat it or what but the pieces were some large, some sharp, some pretty small.... Is this a good thing??? The guy there told me it is great and has the "Good bacteria" in it.... Any idea about this? I have not been able to find anything in the forums about this particular product.

i know the product you are talking aboutt and if i ever used it it would only be for smaller tutrtles. most products that are intended for turtles are actually not good products at all

In my personal opinion I say that's bs and I wouldn't want to use it. Even if it were calcium and stuff, gravel is still messy for cleaning.
