General Care Discussion :: Possible shell problems?

I read the sticky about the bad shell, and seeing the picture, I believe my turtle may be affected by problems too. I can't say at all what, since I have no idea what problem does what on a turtle's shell. Her shell does look like the picture from the sticky. He succeed in healing his turtle by, namely, using products a vet suggested. Should I then go see a vet and ask her about my turtle shells? See picture below; I believe I need advices.

What's your setup and basking area like?

This is my current and temporary setup. I've been messing around the aquarium for the past few days. The water looks murky; it's because I failed at really washing thoroughly the sand. The basking area and light almost never move, but normally there's is much more stuff in the aquarium.

Normaly, there's 4 fake plants, another filter, 1 UV sanitizer, 1 water heater and other decorations. However, since she's having this shell condition since forever, I believe it's better not to judge my current setup (sand and nothing) since it's only so since today.

There is 1 pleco hanging around.

It would be a fungus/yeast infection and I also see some retained scutes.

Your turtle needs to shed those scutes badly. The light over the basking area is a MVB light?

If thats not a MVB you need to go buy a UVB bulb for him that might be is problem not having a UVB bulb over his basking area. If that is a MVB how often does he bask in a day?

I'm using a fluo-compact lamp on which it's written "5.0 UVB". I have 2 different light bulb but only one socket and I don't exchange them; it's only that when I got the aquarium as a kit there was this incandescent-like bulb and then I was told "Get a UVB" which led me to the current fluo-compact. I assume that = MVB?

Also, since 4 days ago, just for "fun" I changed to the old lamp (which is much hotter) because I thought it would make the basking area warmer (which is true and noticable). Now I noticed the turtle basks more often than with the fluo bulb. I assumed this was due to the basking area temperature which is now more appropriate. So basically, I have the wrong bulb for basking, but this one will make him bask more...

If the basking area is in the high 80's and low-mid 90's you won't really need a heat bulb. But if the tempature is lower then 85 your gonna need a heat bulb to get it higher.
