Well I refuse to pay $53 for a uva/uvb bulb at the local pet shop. I bought the same bulb online for $23 with shipping and all. I have had my turtle a few days now. Will he be effected by not having the uvb/uva light while I wait for my bulb to be shipped?

Your turtle will be fine. I'll go so far as to say your turtle will most likely be fine for up to a month maybe two. UV rays are best in the long run. Your turtle should have a long life span, so just settle with whatever is best for you.
