Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

My red ear slider is not basking lately. Does anyone know if this could be related to the colder weather? I noticed that he did bask on one warm day last week when the room temperature was about 70 degrees. It's much colder this week and the room temperature is about 65 or so. I did increase his water temperature from 75 to 78 degrees but haven't noticed any changes. Thanks for any information!

What's your basking area temperature? If it's the same as room temperature,
you need to increase it to about 10°F above water temperature. Also, do you
use a UVB bulb? You didn't mention your lighting setup. I hope this helps.
