A great way to dry turtle-pellets to their original consistency after soaking in tuna water (to entice eating) is to set them out on a paper towel, then into an aluminum container and into a toaster oven for a minute or so.
Works great! I add a few drops of red food dye so I can tell which are the soaked ones. Also my turtles LOVE the color red.

DO remember, that toaster ovens stay warm after the timer goes off, you want to remove them promptly. Burnt turtle food smell will make your cat hide, and nothing else you cook throughout the day will overpower it. Even bacon. It permeates.

Thanks for the tip! I give very few pellets at a time, but one of these days my turtles are going to grab my sleeve and make me drop an open can of pellets into the tank.

haha. my turtle knocked over a can of reptomin onto the floor. i wasnt too happy but at least i could pick it back up and it wasnt into the tank. that just would have been bad haha. steve i dont think ive ever seen any of your tanks. do u have pics to share?
