How big is your turtle suppose to be at around 8-9 months? Because my RES is about 1 3/4 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. Is that big or small or unhealthy or something? I went to a kennel and they had a RES and they said he was a year old and was about 5-6 inches long and 4-5 inches wide and they said they got him when he was the size of a quarter.
I feed my turtle one of those repto pellets morning and night, enough that was the size of his head is how much I should feed him I heard. Also he's a boy so I know they are usually smaller. Help?

Unless you have definitive proof on the hatching of your turtle, its very difficult to age them based by size. Like most animals, individuals grow at different rates.

If you are worried about health - shell is more often a clearer indication. If his(?) shell has no indication of issues, and he is in a decently sized home then your turtle is healthy and fine

You won't be able to visibly tell gender until they are around 4". Like SSMcLeod said, they will have different growth rates, though most in captivity will grow too fast (due to overfeeding). I think his size is fine, though I would expect most his age to be a tad larger.
