I'm pretty new at turtle care and wanted to double check with a community and make sure my turtle's are okay.
So the problem is CCs shell. It's got some weird stuff going on and it worries me. I've looked around for pics to see if it's natural growing stuff or a fungus or something, but I don't trust myself enough to judge it and say it's something for sure. I attached a pic of CC's shell. some spec's on CC
Age- About 5 months, give or take, the pet store people were terrible at helping me with this.
Lighting- I have a heat lamp/UVB light combo over a good sized basking log (CC chills up there pretty often)
Diet- 1 -2 Reptomin baby pellets a day (usually just 1 though)
Tank- 40 gal. filled up about half way with water. I keep the temp of the water between 75-80 degrees F, and the basking area comes out t be between 85-90 degrees F. I've got the appropriate size filter too, I can't remember the brand right now though.
CC's always swimming, basks regularly, and is always down to eat (I make sure to stay discipline on the diet 'cause I know too much can really be hurtful). Everything's great, but the shell worries me, as it's been like that and growing almost 2 months now. Is everything ok? Thanks so much for any feedback
